Unhappy

So it looks like all petrol will run out soon, the only petrol left being in our cars.

So it seems likely that thieving opportunist scum will be stealing from our petrol tanks.

The thing is my cars petrol gauge works all the time (I assume all imprezas do), hence telling everybody how much fuel is in my car!

I beleive some Fords do this as well.

Is there any way of disabling the fuel gauge?
A fuse perhaps? disconnecting the sender unit? where is the sender unit? Am I being paranoid?
Now where's that topped up Explorer?

I disagree, I've had 200+ reported thefts of fuel from vehicles in my area of London today.

Certainly worth keeping an eye on

There have also been reports of quite a few fires from people overfilling their tanks.

Cool

Hello,

Just like you see on vending machines I will make a sign.

NO PETROL LEFT IN THIS VEHICLE OVERNIGHT!

Shaking this vehicle will not make it dispence petrol!

PS I also noticed diesel spills (caused by topping off) on most junctions so look out if you are on a Bike!.

I have several fuel tanks you can empty your unwanted fuel in to, I promis I'll return it but not sure when.

I would just like to extend Stuart's kind offer, by making my fuel tank available for storage aswell

Justin - no you're not being paranoid, but what can you do?

Stick a bit of coloured tape over the fuel gauge at night with a line drawn across it pointing to empty

You could always use it as an excuse for a blast around the local countryside. The roads being that bit more empty thatn usual.

Yes there is a way of making your fuel gauge register zero - SlimeTone and Fatsotwojags are working on it as we speak.

Blow Dog - he's not being paranoid - it's all the rest of us.......
