Hi
I have been on here for some time now but never posted as I thought I wasnt worthy of posting if i didnt own a scooby, but now I do!!
Now the proud owner of a W reg Impreza
Has a few mods, Scorpian CAT back exhaust, lexus lights, bailey DV, and A huge K&N which I will be putting back to standard as I have heard that these can cause damage to the engine?
One question for you, this is an RB5 model. What does that mean?? Is this a good thing?
I am good friends with Ian W on here and want to thank him for all his help with finding me a nice scooby

Hello and welcome.
Congrats on your purchase, the RB5 is a very nice special edition.
A few words of advice: Loose the DV, completely pointless, rather annoying after a while and IIRC may damage your engine. Same goes for the K&N induction kit. MY99 and MY00 Scoobies have rather fragile MAfs that can be damaged by induction kits. Dodgy Maf = wrong fuelng, wrong fueling = Det, Det = engine rebuild!
Other than that, look after it and it'll give you years of reliable service!
All the best and enjoy!

yeah I previously owned a Calibra turbo which was running 260 bhp and they didnt like the K&N either. I need to get hold of a standard airbox from somewhere. Im sure I will find one on ebay.
Are the DV not liked by the scoobies then? I thought they helped the lifespan of the turbo?
Anyway thanks for all the advice, i want the scooby to have a nice long life.
Im suprised how friendly all you scooby drivers are, seen two others today both of which have given me a wave!!!
Cheers
