Not all trailers/caravans have brakes. Look for a handbrake/rubber bellows near the coupling that compress and apply the brakes when the trailer pushes against the towbar.

All caravans should be BURNED though!

all caravans do have brakes.i dont want to get into any arguments,i have been a caravan service engineer for 10 years....but yes not all trailers have brakes.the weight of your car is 1340kg and it is advised to tow 85% of this weight....however i also believe it should be against the law to tow with a subaru.....ha .ha . ...cheers. MERCIA MOBILE CARAVANS

p.s. when you get your caravan,i offer a very reasonable service at competitive rates..........
