They rummage around underneath for an hour and squirt some wax in to the boot lid, bonnet and bottoms of doors. Didn't even take the wheels off. If they find any flakey underseal, they should clean it off and replace it.
Charged me £85.

It involves an easy £100 for the dealer and a car that smells of Waxoyl for a few weeks.
Have you heard of any other modern car which needs this sort of thing??? total con if you ask me.

You are even charged for the stamp they put in your book and the one they send to Subaru.
About £100 and 5 months after it, my car stinks of Waxoyl - very thorough job though. All doors are sprayed inside, the boot lid, the bonnet, panels, wheel arches, inner front wings etc. Takes a bit of time. Worth doing as it will make the car last a good while if you keep it, but it is one of the only manufacturers I know of who still ask for it - yet only offer a 6 year warranty on bodywork.
