Unhappy Which fuel?!?

I've just taken delivery of my first Impreza (1994 WRX - Chav I hear you all say, but we all have to start somewhere!). I haven't had a chance to drive it yet becasue it still needs to be registered. I was just wondering if anyone had advice on what fuel to run it on (un-leaded obviously!) but what rating? Should I use octane boosters of just use a higher rated fuel? Any information would be gratefully recieved!

Ignore Bubba, he's being a bit sarky as this question comes up about once a week without fail.

If it's an import and hasn't been remapped for UK fuel it needs to be run on 100 RON fuel. Basically you need to run it on Optimax (98 ish) with some Octane booster to bump it up to 100.

I (and lots of others here) use NF Race octane booster, at a ratio of 2ml added per litre of Optimax. On my 60L tank i add 120ml of booster to give me about 100 octane.

I think yours will have a 50L fuel tank though being an early jap WRX.

You can get NF Race from lots of places but i get mine from Alyn at http://www.asperformance.com

HTH

Cheers for all that info. Sorry if the question comes up all the time, new to the Impreza lark and I was a bit lazy to do a search. It's all a bit overwhelming with the whole import thing but the car is awesome. Cheers again for the information.

Don't be sorry guy, that's what this forum is for. Experience helping in-experience, better safe than sorry.

Enjoy your toy, you don't have to have the most upto date model to have fun in a Subaru.....
