Tampered Mileage
Not surprising really. I bought my car off an importer in April with 83 160 km on the clock, a very low mileage for a 1994 WRX.
Someone pointed out the following sticker the other day. It says (I believe) that a cam belt change was done in September 2002 and the mileage then was 84xxxkm. So somehow the mileage dropped from japan to UK.
In some ways it's good to know that it wasn't that high in late 2002, and so it probably didn't get a lot higher than that, but then, why did it get tampered with?

Something I always feared with imports - especially after km/h to mph conversions. And the Japanease sevice book strangely dissapears!
Looks like it probably went over to 100000 kms, we all know people have phobias over cars with 100000+ on the clock. Working on the basis that the car has averaged just a little over 10000kms a year it's probably done around 100000kms
Only other explainations is that the mileage on the sticker was wrote down wrong (it does happen on the odd occasion) or the speedo got replaced with a 2nd hand unit due to the orignial being faulty for some reason - but I haven't heard of scoobies prone to speedometer failure.

Yeah, I'd have to agree. The car probably went into the export process in around October 2003 (at it's 9 year anniversary), so it could easily have had 15000km put on in the last year.
Still, 100 000km is not really that high a mileage is it, it could have been a lot worse.

Huh?
It says July 13 for this OIL change. Nothin 'bout no cambelt change on there. Says that the oil filter was changed on the last oil change (which was when that was written, and that the next change is due July 13 (no year).
