Just my opinion, but I'd want a bit more than 2K of full price for what I assume was a demonstrator vehicle. It's a good starting price though

It was not demo, single private owner. Had it for 2 months and had to sell it for whatever reasons. Went back to dealership where he got it from.

There is not a single mark, scratch etc on it. Its is like brand new.

SO WHAT DO YOU THINK ITS WORTH THEN??

I am hoping to call back this avo or go down tomorrow to put deposit down. I have looked on autotrader and price seems ok.

Is it a good deal?

Hmm, not when you can get a brand new UK spec STI for 18877 quid it isn't! Try here first and save a packet: http://www.newcarsupermarket.co.uk

It is a UK Spec European Import. The only thing that is missing on the car will be:

Sigma Cat 1 Alarm - Can be fitted for 300 quid
Locking wheel nuts - Cost 25 quid from Halfords
Possibly full underseal - Can be done by any garage for about 50 quid

Due to current EU regulations, the car is legally covered by the manufacturers 3 yr pan european warranty. All you need to do is get a Subaru garage to register the car with IM for you.

Cars are delivered in September I think.

It's the deal of the century, I'd be there like a shot if I had the cash!! At hte end of the day, it will have come off the same production line in Japan as UK STI's, so essentially it's the same car.

ts not a UK spec sti, we have already been over this

Absolute b0ll0cks matey. The car comes off the same bloody production line as all 'UK' STI's and then gets shipped to Europe. The only differences are those that I mentioned which are fitted once the car arrives in the UK.

As for 'UK' cars having more to offer, well I think we all know that the JDM cars are far superior to the European market cars!

Get your facts straight son.

This seems to be the only catch. You have to take it back to the supplying country for this to be fitted whic in this case would be Malta or Cyprus.

BUT, after extensive reports and comparisons, PPP doesn't seem to be the best performance upgrade for the car anyhow. The TSL 333 upgrade seems to be more effective and cheaper too I think. (According to Evo mag anyhow)

Maybe so, but im sure non sanctioned mods would void the *apparent* 3 year warranty, thus defeating the object if a warranty was the major reason in buying a uk/eu spec car.

I would have thought you could have got a new one for that price, I only paid £800 more than that for mine last March when they first came out, then put ppp on and it came back to just over list of STi, and now a new facelift is on the cards you should be able to get a better deal still.

My tuppence worth

I'm not wanting to pour oil on water here, But the Uk warranty is just that UK ! Not pan european ! Just have a word with a UK Subaru dealer and they will direct you back to where you bought it, This was told to me by my dealer while mine was in for it's first service a couple of weeks ago so had nothing to gain, He had a chap turn up with a Uk spec car but the checks where done and was imported from cyprus and had a genuine warranty claim, but as it was not a Subaru Uk vehicle could'nt touch it ! Advised the owner to go back where he had bought it to sort it out and he said they sent me here ! He did'nt realise that it was an import. I guess thats what you pay for ?

No, that is quite wrong. Recent European legislation means that you can take your car to any garage of the same manufacturer within the EU and expect them to honour a legitimate warranty claim.

Subaru garages in the UK are notoriously uncompliant with regard to imports, and they will tell you white lies to discourage you from buying abroad.

The truth is though that once registered with IM, any UK Subaru gaage is bound by european law to deal with any warranty claims on your behalf. Of course, they will have to contact the supplying dealer from say Malta/Cyprus, but they will do that on yur behalf.

The reverse happened to me with my P1. I live in Spain and I had a warranty claim whilst in Barcelona. The local dealer there quite happily contacted Subaru UK and dealt with my claim for me.

What your Subaru 'STEALER' is telling you is an utter crock of sh*t!

There is a near conspiracy gong on in the UK, especially within the Subaru dealerships to discourage imports - they are practically the only remaining company that refuse to service JDM cars. Go to any other Jap car company (Toyoya, Mitsi, Mazda etc) and they are more than happy to work on your car.

To be honest, the **** that is spouted about imports is utter *****. Ultimately, you're getting 99.9% the same car for a lot less money, simple as that! The rest can easily and cheaply be added.
