INTERMITTENT WIPER PUZZLE.!!!
has anyone noticed that when they are using intermittent wipers. a difference in noise when they click off.
what i mean is when it is set to the shortest time between wipes. the windscreen wipers clear window and you get a little click(from the solinoid or whatever it is) but when you set it to longer you get a different noise(a sort of squeek).
sorry this may seem **** but i hate any sort of noise that i think should not be there.

Funny you should say that... i have noticed the same on my MY03 WRX. Obviously in the sunny climates we live in I had forgotten about it. Wouldn't mind knowing what the outcome was when you have the service Paul.

(My collegue at work has a '53 Reg WRX PPP.............it does it too!!)
The dealer agreed that it was annoying and said they'd swap the necessary bits out of their brand new STi demo car...................but it was worse!!!
It seems to be a type fault (not yet confirmed) with the new type of wiper stalks fitted to the Impreza III.............the intermittent relay is now located within the stalk assembly!!.........This relay seems to be the cause of the noise (possibly contact bounce).
The dealer is investigating through IM..........
.......I hope this is of some help!!!

Don't suppose anyone knows whether this affects JDM cars too? They have the wiper and indicator stalks on the opposite side to the UK. (Not a lot of people know that )
