Square peg in a round hole?
Hi
Am awaiting my delivery date for an MY04 STi and made it clear that I wanted the afore mentioned square boot lock.
Now wondering if the dealers will be replacing the round ones to keep us customers happy?
Any views?

wrx_sti_my04 - good on you m8, when did u order yours & what colour ??
As for the dealers replacing the boot locks, the moulding on the boot is slightly different to accomodate either lock (if that makes sense) !

I ordered a silver WRX about 3 weeks ago. It was in stock and I could have had it within a few days but thought it might make sense to wait for an 04 registration. However, it's an MY03. I've convinced myself that this is OK but do you reckon I'd be better off asking for an MY04 for the sake of the boot lock and body colour sills?

PST - By all means yes !!!
Think about the resale value, i personally have had some amount ov problems my dealer tryed to fob me off with a MY03 sti, but thanks to the guys here i got to no the difference & i have learned a lot about the scoobs.
But if you are wanting the MY03 make sure you get a mega discount as the MY04 wrx's have been available a lot longer than the sti's !!
But again its your choice !

Sti-04 - If I was paying cash I'd probably walk but I've got a PX which is losing money every day and they did give me a pretty good deal. My theory was that come 3 years or whatever when I sell it, the average punter is going to be more interested in the 04 reg than the square boot lock....but then like I said I've sort of talked myself into it
I reckon if I hold out for an MY04 they'll do the old "haven't got any for 6 weeks" bit, I'll lose the PX deal on my car (I'm putting 750miles a week on it) and my deposit will go.
I'm OK with this (just about) provided the MY04 has nothing else new on it mechanically!

Hi sti-04!!
Test drove first ever scooby on the Saturday and ordered a WR Blue four days later, a week ago today, waiting for a delivery date.
Couldn't convince the wife that changing the wheels was mandatory if I went for a silver scooby so stuck with the blue as the golds are just about acceptable.
Am keen to get behind the wheel!!
Will keep you posted on the MY03 / MY04 success.
