LOL
I knew from the previous activity he'd probably be up to it so when we went through a motorway gasto at a fixed speed (obviously) we took the chance to 'gun' it on the other side. Being a smart ar%e I thought I'd try and take him in 5th He started to pull away I then made a dash for 3rd but accidently put it back into 5th Still he pulled away. I finally got 4th and eventually start to claw it back but the damage was done
There will be an interesting conversation somewhere in a pub tonight

Some of the Volvos are quick though, some are around 250 bhp. I use a Saab 9000 turbo for my work car, its 13 years old and done 150'000 miles, it ain't as fast as my scooby but it isn't slow, it would give a uk scooby a run for its money, it wasn't that far behind an Evo 5 once, admittedly the guy pulled away but it wasn't as devastating as you would imagine. I had to get a scoob after I was beaten by an Uno turbo in the Saab though.

I was behind one of the fast Volvos a few nights ago. He booted it on a sliproad, but I managed to catch up just to read his boot badge... V70R. Then I checked my back issues of Evo, the first one I looked at (August 2003) flopped open at page 134 - spooky or what! V70R, 294 BHP, 0-100 in 17.6.

I nearly got beat by a nova about a month ago, indicated and went to pull out on a dual carriage way when he flew past me and I was doing about 80, caught him up and went past him and I floored it, he was only about a 1/2 mile behind at the end of about a 3mile stretch of road. Later found out that he has a calibra turbo engine in it and has nos. I was driving my 98Type R

So what you got beaten?
Some of these novas have 2 litre+ turbo engines dropped into 'em. Fair play I say, but OTOH you can't polish a ....
The turbo'd saab and volvos are rapid in the midrange. A mate with a rather nicely modified Scoob is slightly wary of a 9-5 aeros midrange explosiveness. 210bhp with a lot less transmission loss than we have to worry about means the thing goes well once traction is there

Chairk this one didn't have a massive engine as the scooby was quicker. Just not so much quicker that I could take the micky out of him by using top gear when he'd dropped. Its just funny that I made such a cods-ear of it when I decided to try and 'race'*

LOL! Kenny
I just happened to mention to a certain Nova owner at my work about dicing with a Scoob.
It was him!
Silver Nova just at the Macmerry speed camera.
Said He was very surprised he toasted you up to (Ahem...20.)
Said though he had to pullin to let you past.
His car's a 1600 not 16vand he's always bombing about/crashing.
His reg. is worth more than the car!
He Knows a thing or two about modding the Nova.
and is a good Lad.
However Tut Tut. Shame on you. He never beats me.LOL!
Steve.
