Usually the best way is to freeze it. But thats going to be difficult as its on your carpet.!

 

Freeze it is the way , perhaps try one of those pipe freezing kits
for plumbing (but test it first to make sure it doesn't change the colour ). Or just another thought try a iron (not too hot) with a cloth / piece of kitchen paper between it and the carpet and see if you can get the gum to stick to the cloth .....don't melt your carpet though !

 

Ice? Works a treat!

 

Chewing gum remover by STAIN DEVIL. I think its the green one, hard to get but does the job.
Otherwise, ice cubes.

 

Dry Ice will freeze it in no time, works great on getting Chocolate of seats as well. You just need to know someone who has access to D.I.
