anybody know thw best way to get chewing gum out of the carpet.

Ice.... Rub an ice cube over the area to freeze it, then it should just peel off.

Probably more extreme than the option above but I think paraffin disolves chewing gum.

If an ice cube doesn't get cold enough, I was given a freeze spray in a can by a mate that did the trick... I think it was for freezing pipes so you can disconnect plumbing without turning the water off... Should be able to get some from B&Q

Might be a good idea to test carpet for colour loss somewhere out of site before applying liberally!
