Question

Mods, feel free to move if general is the wrong place for this

As some may be aware, I'm going to be selling the scoob. Just want some info on the best places to advertise it. I already have a thread in 'for sale' on here, but where else have others who have sold a scoob advertised them? Local paper? Autotrader? Fish4Cars? Sign in the car?

I am planning on getting a little runabout, and thus I doubt very much that somewhere would part ex my little monster for a runabout and give me cash back, and I doubt a Subaru dealer would touch it (it is an import) as I'd not be purchasing a car from them.

So, suggestions please. And a buyer!

Autotrader, local magazine and online. The secret is to be patient, and not to get pi55ed off by the inevitable time wasters. People will be put off my the import and the mods. You will get more money if you take all the mods off and sell it standard (or as near as damn it) You can happily ask less then. S/N people are all looking for a steal, so I'd be surpised if you had a satifactory offer on here..

DONOT accept any offers from companies that phone you and offer to "match a buyer to your car, bla bla bla" In my experience they are an overpriced waste of time.

Good luck anyway mate...

I am not putting it back to standard, simply as I don't have the original exhaust, or brakes, and I'm not going to buy them just to sell it on, ok, it does make sense, but to me, the cons outweigh the pros.

why not ask if anyone has old OEM kit lying in the garage that you could stick on. Given the amount of mods getting done there must be loads of Subaru kit lying in garages.

True, I could do that, but to be honest, I'm too lazy to fit it, and I could not fit it myself, and would not want to pay to get it done. I'm flitting between 2 - 3 countries at the moment, and thus have no time to mess around, as it were, so just want to sell it as is.

I only used Scoobynet, and the first person to see the car went straight to the bank to get a bankers draft!! You have to be honest and price it to sell. I sold mine at a low-ish price, but that was non-negoiable! I might have got a couple of hundred more, but it saves all the grief with haggling!

Autotrader and Top Marques are good places to get general sort of coverage! Although there are a lot of Imprezas there!

Think how many people buy the Autotrader compared to the people who use the internet to buy cars!

BTW, drop me a mail with details of your car (I can only remember some!), expected price and whether you'd consider a mk2 Golf part-ex!!
