Just make sure that you disable your alarm by using the "valet mode" then disconnect the battery and ensuring it doesnt touch any of the bodywork (shove it in a rubber glove!!) give it 20mins or so then reconnect and presto! should be sorted may not give you much better consumption but hopefully you should feel the effects of the optimax more

Er, nothing?

220 is pretty good for an import. I averaged 13MPG in my UK Turbo over 400 miles in Wales last weekend.

I can push 250 miles + on A road / motorway cruising.

Now I'm worried!
I get 275 miles to the tank, usually 50 litres ish.
Could I have a restriction in a fuel line?
Using sul & booster, my96 sti wagon.

How many miles per tank...
Good grief I wish I could get that many.

My UK94 does well to get 170

170 miles per 50litres! bejesus man! how much do you spend on petrol in a year?

I've only just got a MY97 so I haven't been driving it hard as I'm still getting used to it, although I have tried out the acceleration quite a bit ;-)
I got as far as 258 with a quarter of a tank left.
I think I'm right in saying the MY97 has a 60 litre tank though.

I've got a MY95 WRX and generally get 220 miles to a tank (just over 20mpg) when driven down the lanes with a little bit of motorway. On just the motorway I can get much better results as long as the revs are kept below 3000rpm, i.e. not using the turbo.

Blackscooby,
I used to get about 170 - 180, that was before the car had a good old service, which included replacing all the spark plugs, and other bits, this seems to have done the world off good. So if you've not had the sparks replaced for a while it might be worth doing.

Cool

220??? wouldn't worry too much!!

I used to get about 180 when I first got my 95 WRX.

Then slowed a little and regularly got 210-230.

Been trying to save a little money and can get around 270 now if I want to.

18MPG - fun driving.
22MPG - 'normal'
27MPG - boring.

Wink

47mpg, yes 47!!!!!(in my Bravo)

But usually 27 mpg, when I drive the turbo.

BUT I did get 78miles out of a tankful (52litres)at Bedford-oh dear, that's bad isn't it?

I've just worked that out at 6.9mpg- er I must be doing the sums wrong surely?
