I have gone mad:
1. Remove the orange wedges - any adverse effect on brake cooling?
2. Resonator removal - now I have a K&N kit fitted presumably it is not needed and might save a bit of weight.
3. Don't add any more ICE!
4. Don't want to remove trim/sound-deadening etc, but also have a Subaru fire extinguisher - Belgian - might remove.
5. Ally bonnet - obviously not cheap so not doing.
Other simple ideas or am I just going mad?
Certainly my 20kg of ICE is the worst culprit, but I think it's staying, although I was thinking of losing 12kg from a sub box and second amp as it sounds OK on just the front speakers.

Let's just say with the wife in the car, power to weight ratio is NOT the limiting factor "John, was that really necessary". "What you mean that overtake on a clear stretch of road with excellent visibility and no junctions not even going above 4000rpm and still leaving a massive margin for error?" etc etc.

Rip out all the trim and seats (except the one to sit on)
Remove the spoiler
Fit OZ Super Ls or 16 inchers (saving unsprung weight is really valuable)
AP brakes (saving unsprung weight is really valuable)
Carbon replacement bonnet, boot, doors, bumpers (probably have to do all this yourself usng origibnals to make moulds)
and so on
lol

Having taken the back seats out myself, I can tell you that they weigh next to nothing, and do a damn good job of sound deadening.
(And they prop my granny up quite well)
How about a P1 Cabriolet?????
With helium filled tyres (that'll reduce unsprung weight)

These guys do a car battery that is supposed to be lightweight...and batteries are normally a pretty weighty item.
Don't know if it is any good etc etc...but may be worth a sniff.

Running with 1/2 tanks of fuel helps.
Get light weight replacemnet windows.
Replace the doors, wings, boot, bumpers with lightweight GRP stuff.
Sell the car & get a RA light weight version.

Low windows does increase drag, but makes the car feel faster with all the mad exhaust and induction/turbo/dump valve noises.
15 mpg with me on a mission would be optimistic but don't tell the wife. Try single figures on some of our lovely roads - you can almost see it move!
I think I might junk the fire extinguisher, orange wedges and resonator and associated piping to start with. Do have one of those foam thingies for a puncture and would possibly use it, but knowing my luck I would get one you couldn't foam so the spare stays. It's a weedy little thing though.
Do you think SuperL + 17s would be lighter than OEM + 16s?

Empty the ash tray and remove it altogether along with the cigar lighter (but some say that keeping this would make it a bit lighter).
Tune into radio 1 instead of radio 4 as I find this heavy going.
Remove interior grab handles, who needs them anyway as most wimmin insist on tying the men's legs up to 'em now.
