err we go again....

those who never had a bike think they beat bikes with cars.

those with just a bike think they beat cars with a bike.

those with both know that bikes beat cars under most circumstances except weather protection

could just leave it at that

Question

It all down to the rider really and the circumstances, I have had to set to's with bikes where both were genuinely going for it. I beat both of them! The trouble with a bike is keeping the bugger down and if your not that experienced most riders will back off. The first bike I beat was a fireblade two up, and at the next set of lights the rider told me exactly that, that he couldn't keep the front down. The other was some prat on an R6, bye bye, obviously couldn't ride the thing!!

Tiggs, it also depends on the driver/rider ability. The two are TOTALLY different, requiring different abilitys.

Cool

I have in Milton Keynes in the dry. Around the roundabouts he was toast, but he could just catch me on the straights, had to slow down after about 6 roundabouts the g/f was sh*tting it.
Coming up to each roundabout i could just see through his viser, he weren't happy!

Talking

Mate of mine has an r6 and he can ride a bit aswell. No contest what so ever the bike is 1.5 seconds faster to 60 on best quoted 0-60 times (if you want to destroy your clutch) and has a good 165+mph top speed (this seems a lot faster as he leaves you for dead at the lights tho - may as well be in reverse).

How is any scoob suposed to cope with that unless its pissing down????

And if you can corner better than him thats because a) he can't ride the thing, b)he doesn't know the road like you do, or c) its pissing down!!

DMB, you forgot to add option (d), the car has more traction due to 4 wheels versus 2. Simple really. At the end of the day it's the power-to-weight advantage of the bike versus the traction advantage of the car.

I had two run ins with two different R6's
one pulled away from me but only a chaff, and I got in front of him when he bottled it round a bend and again I had a two up R6 and the scoob rolling at 40mph wasted it, he bottled it also.

Own a modded Scooby and a modded R6.......

In my opinion it depends on
The road (straight vs twisty)
Traffic Flow (stationary vs none)
Weather (wet vs dry)
Rider (experienced vs novice)

In most situations I feel the bike has the edge....but this can be turned around in the circumstances change..
