Just bought a 2001 WRX
#1
Hello Everyone
Just purchased a 2001 WRX in WR Blue with 18inch OZ rims. Sold my Lotus Elise.
Its a standard WRX but has the morrette headlamp conversion.
Any advice on the looking after it, hints/tips would be appreciated
Also thinking of putting a STI type UK spoiler. Anyone know where I can get one cheap? Dealer wants £900
Also I need a tracker fitted for insurance reason. Anyone know a good dealer in London?
Hope to be an active member on here.

Welcome to the board and congrats on your new buy
Look after it by buying Merguirs (sorry about the spelling) wax products. Somewhere on here will have the web address. Just bought some products from them ABSOLUTLEY FANTASTIC.
TSL do a nice range of spoilers: www.tsl-motorsport.co.uk (i think)
Phone RAC up and they will put you in touch with a reputable installer. Make sure you get Trackstar Protector as a lot of insurers wont give you insurance with anything less and its better than the standard retrieve anyway
See ya m8

Hope you know that if you are driving it around at present without a tracker that its not insured for theft by your insurance company.
A tracker will cost you around £500 but there are insurance companies that dont require them to be fitted........

Yeah Snoop, if its an X plate ending in BPA (reg Dec'00), with Sports seats (not the buckets) and sliver 18" OZ wheels, then you've also got:
subaru front lip (with the grey centre section)
subaru back difuser (with the grey middle section)
subaru side sill extensions + coloured sills
Subaru/Prodrive Spring kit (25mm lower than standard)
And the NavTrak ProActive tracker system
Thats of course if it's my old one!

What a shame. My car is a Y reg but has everything you mentioned apart from the security.
A friend at work tells me that the new Imprezas are slower than the ones they have replaced. Is this true? Also the dealer was telling me that there is a facelift Impreza coming out. Anyone seen or heard about this?
TIA

Snoop,
Well, if the OZ wheels are gold and you bought it in the last 3 days, sounds like it might have been Simes' old one, nice one.
The new '03 can be seen here:

Yep
Just confirmed that the car I have purchased is Simes old car.
One last question I promise. Is TSL a company that sells Scooby stuff or a manufacturer.
Thanks again

p.s Elsie owners seem to flash other Elise drivers. Is this how it is with Subarus too?

Snoop,
TSL make their own stuff, sell official stuff and other manufacturers bits n pieces.. Whole heartedly recommend them and their gear.
One of the best outfits in the UK.
