I think my boot lid on MY02 is squeeking like ****. Checked to see if there are any mice in the boot but there isn't

Has anyone else got this problem. Don't know if it's the rubber stoppers on the lid and it's rubbing on the seating but theres no adjustment settings. Also checked the spoiler, don't think it's that.

Please help, driving me ******* mad!

Pete

(thought it was my wifes **** seeings she never lets me spend any money, oiled it but it's still there)

I tried silicone grease on all the rubber bits, adjusting the catch mechanism, etc. and then found it was actually that the wheelbrace had come adrift (it's under the boot floor) and was rubbing on the spacesaver rim and tyre!

A quick squirt of 'WD-40' will cure that

Pete,
It wasn't due to the fact that it was vibrating so much when I pulled away from you the other day was it??? Blame it on the Evo, go on.....

The whole point of the post was to find out if it IS the boot squeeking and if anyone else had the problem. If i knew the boot lid was squeeking, i wouldn't of posted the ******* question in the 1st place.

Take your brain dead head off and put your intelligent head on you ugly Tw@t.

PS I do blame you EVO coz it only started on Thursday night ;(

Buzzer,

My MY94 sqeeuked quite badly until I sprayed the hinges inside the boot with WD40. Now its fine. Perhaps worth a try?

Cheers Kev

Think i might have to go round all the linkage in the boot with WD and see if that cures it.

If not i'll be dismantling the parcel shelf (maybe)
