WTF - has one of the moderators been playing????
I swear I wrote "Nice one - I didn't think my Astra did a quarter mile quicker than one of them!" - it doesn't make proper sense without the word "didn't" in there!!
I repeat - my car is not quicker than a P1 - although 13.89 for an NA mk2 Astra is still pretty good going!

Oh god, we're not P1 slagging again are we?
If you attached a 5 litre engine to an ironing
board it would probably would be faster than a P1.
And you're astra.
You could make most things fater than a P1 with time / upgarding.
Conversley you can make a P1 faster.

My standard P1 did a 13.1 on my 1st ever run at santa pod and my second run i managed a 12.92.
Absolutely no mechanical sympathy was spared - i wound it to 6k and dropped the clutch!
but bugger me it flew!
