GT4 Vs Scooby
#1
Hi all.
Well I'm p****s off with trying to find a scooby. So I'm considering buying a GT4 and have been told they can keep up with or even do a scooby (in standard form). Is this true..?
Regards

Good luck in finding a mint GT4 they are pretty rare as well (in good condition) I think they stopped making them in 94 as well.

205 GT4 vs Standard UK Scooby - there wouldnt be much in it, more down to driver than anything, 208-215bhp 1250Kg vs 240-250bhp 1450Kg, Scooby more involving and has that Boxer engine, against good looking coupe (IMHO) and pretty unburstable internals and transmission (upto 360-380bhp without going internal or fiddling with gearboxes )

buy a gt4 for toyota bulletproofness and reliability.
I will never buy a Subaru again. Far too "quirky" mate. Common quotes from scooby people include things such as "they all do that" for problems such as clutch judder, piston slap etc etc

I owned a 1991 Carlos sainz limited edition Celica GT4 for 4 years.
Though there was only approx 10bhp difference between the 2 cars, in comparison to MY99 Impreza I currently own. (even in standard form) the 2 cars are very different in power delivery.
The quoted toyota 0-60 time of GT4 (from brochure for carlos sainz was 7.6 secs - much slower than a standard Impreza.).
Having owned both cars, the impreza is most definatley (IMO) the better car for both sheer performance and driver satisfaction.
My only regret is not buying an Impreza much sooner.
I believe the later generation Celica has 240bhp and was quite a bit quicker.
Oh, and bulletproofness..... er no..... 2 Head Gaskets blown in 18 mon ths on Standard car, that never missed a service and was not high mileage... dealership service was crap too!
Hope this helps
