I've been told from many sources that the Valentine 1 is THE radar detector to get.
Only problem is that here it's about £600 and in the states it's $399!!
There's a website, but although they will bill to the UK, they will only ship it to the US and Canada.
I managed to get it for £260, and it's sitting at my friends flat in the US at the moment. Another friend is flying out there next week, so it will be with me in a fortnight!!

Slightly confused now.
I thought the group buy was with Derek @ Networx Automotive on 01555 666444.
But you mention David Baxter @ Radar Express & I thought their number (taken from Web pages) was 0800 783 9444.
Or are these two companies one in the same?
Please clarify as I want to purchase but don't want to appear completely stupid by calling the wrong people!
PS - When does the group buy end?

Ian,
I've a Bel 990 and its awesome, I don't receive many false alerts around cities etc, and the advanced warnings are more than enough.
If you can buy a Bel 990 cheaper than a Euro 550 I would go for the 990.
Although the 990 now is discontinued it is IMHO virtually the same as a 550.
Cheers,
Rob.

Thanks for that Networx.
The group buy for the 550 is GBP 320.00 and the 990 without group buy, goes for GBP 345.00. I don't suppose there is a discount for the 990 if we mention the bbs group buy. If not we are better off with the 550. I suppose we can ring and find out.

Adam, sorry for not making my self clear m8. What I meant was we'd be better off with the 550 at GBP 320 as it would work out cheaper with the group buy than the 990 which is still available at GBP 345. Apparently they are very similar in spec. And I was trying to see if the 345 price of the 990 could possibly come down to make it cheaper than the 550, as I wouldn't mind any one of the two. I definitly did not mean to come out looking like the 990 was better than the 550.

Wrexy, I am confused?
Why do you say if not, we wouild be better off with the 550.
The 550 is the replacement for the 990 which is now obselete, and is cheaper now, on the group buy.
Did I miss something.
I have a 550 and it works beautifully.
