I also only ever use momentum. Was also told that if you ever run out or have to use 95-97 ron fuel even if driven steady the ecu will self retard and then won’t go the other way when momentum etc is added back in tank. Be interesting to get a more mapper / experts opinion on this if it’s true or not.
a very interesting video tho. …….. right now where did I put that ethanol ?

Same here 're Tesco Momentum in my Classic, after a couple of bad experiences (one very bad) using Shell on my last Classic 20 years ago.
Yes, I know the formula will have changed a lot since then, but never again.

jaygsi, how do you find Texaco Super ? do you have the 99 stuff or the 97? I can only get Texaco 97 here in Glos. I was tempted to try Esso 99, after this video though, not sure??
I have both Shell 99 and Tesco 99 close by, to be honest I cannot find much difference between them when driving.
Anybody have experience with octane boosters with those fuels? Good or snake oil?

Don't really notice any difference with performance really. Think it's now 99 use to be 97 I believe.

Octane booster isn't that basically what Tesco put in there fuel, just add advertises.

It was surprising results would be nice if they did some more tests with other fuels.

Yes it's 99 now. Looks like it was lunched in 2021 in north and north west. Would of thought you'd have it by now.

The video confirms what most Subaru owners suspected/ knew already. But what it doesn't do is analyse what detergents or additives are in the "premium" fuels

Here's a test I'd like to see. How clean the fuel going into my tank is when: The forecourt tanks are full, half full, at their min and while a taker is filling them up.during the panic buying of petrol, Tesco wouldn't let customers buy fuel for an hour after the tank had been to allow the tanks to settle.
