What battery should be in my Sigma38?
I turn the ignition on and everything lights up. I turn the key to start and everything goes out and the car doesn’t start. The car battery is approx 4 months old. I have put it on charge overnight. Next on my list is the battery in the fob but I can’t read what it is. It says Sigma 38 I think.
Any suggestions??

Hi what is the Sigma 38?
Its not a term Im familiar with.
A UK widetrack should be fitted with single button keys which incorporate the alarm fob pcb for the Sigma M30 alarm.
AFAIK the key battery is a CR1620
If you have a Sigma alarm fob as well, AFAIK the batteries are CR2025
Hopefully you know the Alarm PIN ??
How do you lock/unlock the car?? If single button keys, they operated the alarm which operates the keyless entry system.
I took the car battery a heavy duty Yuasa 4 months old back to GSF to be tested. It was dead as a dodo. I also bought 2 new 2025 batteries. Thank F--- it started.
might be worth getting the alternator output checked as that is unusual unless it was simply an odd faulty main battery?
bear in mind that those cars use a "smart charge" function so normally recommend you run the likes of side-lights at all times to stimulate the charge regime
What about a CTEK MXS 7.0, for when the car is not in use?
I have used the cheaper CTEK MXS 5.0. If dealing with a battery that is completely flat, the lower output of the MXS 5.0 can take 3 or 4 attempts at charging, before it can complete the charge cycle.
i’ve a jdm , so it’s got the standard alarm plus a cat 1 and a tracker , battery probably lasts 7 to 10 days , so it’s put on trickle charge quite a lot of the time , i use the euro car parts charger , think it’s called street wise and around 30£ , if battery keeps on being low in voltage damage gets done and won’t last as long 👍😁

Mine was totally flat the other day so I plugged in my trusty CTEK 5, but it got stuck as I think the new alarm system was nicking any bit of charge that was coming in, to try to reset.
In the end I got a Ring one from Screwfix for £32.95 and it sprung back into life almost immediately. Looked at upgrading the Ctek as well, but the 5 is still is good for keeping the battery topped up in the winter ( and when I remember!)
Gotta love a CTEK charger, brilliant they are.
I've only got the cheaper MXS 5.0 one but it's been good as gold, but then so has the battery to be fair.
Before this winter I'm going to hardwire in the two CTEK terminal wires to my Yuasa battery for ease of connection and no messing with croc leads.

Replace the batteries in your alarm and or tracker, thats why its draining so quickly.
all the security bits are drawing a low current , but it’s the combination of things draining the battery , plus cars not used a lot , no batteries in the tracker or the cat 1 alarm 👍
