Default Best exhaust for sound and performance.

This has probably been asked a million times. I've got a 2006 Hawkeye WRX currently with a prodrive exhaust wanting to change exhaust to a louder one. Looking at either a Blitz Nur Spec or Vortex afterburner any advice helpful with regards to pros and cons on either one or advice on other systems out there. Any help appreciated.

I've had the vortex on my old Sti Blobeye and it wasn't that loud so after two years purchased the Nur Spec and they don't come louder than that, it set's car alarms off as you go past and more importantly my cats could hear me coming home from one mile away. The workmanship on the Blitz is outstanding just look at the welding on them.

Blitz Nur Spec R with a full decat. Get it done! Only been a few weeks and I’m already used to it now. Either that or I’ve gone partially deaf.

Can I just ask does it pass its MOT with it on or do you need to find a friendly MOT tester.

Has your prodrive system got a mid silencer , or a straight through one ? , deleting the silencer has a big impact if it does have one , my local exhaust fabricator makes up systems so you get exactly what you want , why not try that , it’s not as £ as you think it would be , i don’t know where you are based , in herts i use a place called emp , i’m sure you will have a place local to you somewhere

Wow just watched some vids of the titanium ones especially the Tomei and that sound is Brutally Insane, a lot of the cars were being driven on a race track are they road legal and MOT friendly? Thanks.

up in london there are now apparently noise sensors so go too loud and you get a ticket , i’ve not come across any one who has been penalised yet , mot wise they could fail you for noise but unlikely , as long as you have a cat of some type that works in place then normally ok

Currently whats on mine, 3" bore powerflow all the way through. Sounds perfect with sports cat. Not too loud but has a deep burble.

Some of these exhausts that have been mentioned are twice the price of the Blitz but no doubt they are worth the money.

It does, I've tried loads of exhausts and best one so far. Heard others that are nicer. But there jap style ones, that upset your neighbours, and hurt your ears on long journeys

no, but it sounds like how a performance car should. Not like a hoover with some ‘crackle and pops’ you hear today. It’s the business!
