Opinions please? 2006 hawk with DCCD doing this ugly metallic grinding sound when under load or turning in full lock.
Rear diff has already been replaced brand new (Subaru genuine), including all bearings as diagnosed by the mech but didn't resolve. The noise remained the same as before.
Not driveshaft centre bearing or binding discs/handbrake either. Not clutch as it also does it when coasting in neutral.
Doubt it is the front CV joints as it does it going straight also. Manually opening or locking works but still does it.
It's worth checking the back plate to the discs, which can corrode and rub. Try sourcing it in the daylight too, a noise like that shouldn't be hard to track down with someone walking alongside.

checked already, to the point that i got the discs off and wire brushed the plate anyway to make sure. Plates are not the issue
