Unhappy Grinding metallic noise from the engine

Hi

I was driving down the M4 when my MY94 WRX started losing power and juddering. I pulled over in the hard shoulder and the car cut out. I tried starting it and as it was turning over there was a grinding noise in the engine.

I was on my way back from having a up pipe and a D cat down pipe fitted.

Has anyone any ideas what this could be and advise anyone to fix in the NW london area.

Also see the below thread.

Thanks

Tough luck, I'm not in the NW London area, but we do a huge number of repairs such as you are going to need. If you care to call me l'll talk you through the options - NO obligation on your part to me at all. 01926 614522

Try AnG Services in Park Royal. 7 Cullen Way, NW10. (020) 8963-0333, ask for Angie, (ex-main dealer mechanic). He looks after mine and a few others in and around W.London.

ps I spoke to M444GY today and he mentioned your engine problem.

Cheers Slowboy, I'll have to remember that place.

I'm just going to take my car to API Engines and let them do the rebuild. I phoned them up and they seem alright + they have been recommended by a few people.
