Subaru have stopped making the diesel. I suggest you research the problems with the diesels and the cost to replace the engine. It is way more than a petrol.

Having owned a diesel Subaru, I would suggest that there are many other makes that you should consider first.

Pre 2010 diesels suffered from main bearing failure, blocked oil ways due to silicon have been reported. Replacement is 10k plus. Personally I found the motor inflexible and lacking power/torque compared with euro diesels.

We considered one of these for the wife before getting her Audi. The amount of snapped crankshafts and engine failures put us off.
