Question Need a new desktop, not that great with what I need! Help!

All

I need a new desktop, will probably get one from Dell as the offers seem pretty good at the moment

The question is, I dont know what is better...more RAM, more hard drive, faster processor etc etc

The sort of spec I have priced up is a 3ghz Pentium 4, with 512mb ram, 80gb hard drive, soundblaster sound card and a 256mb graphics card

Is it worth getting 1gb of RAM?

At the moment I have 300 (and something) MB of RAM, 1.7ghz Pentium and a 40gb hard drive. Not sure what graphics card

I dont use the computer for games other than Football Manager 2006, and we use the net a lot with broadband and I have 20gb of music on itunes on my ipod. We also do some work with photos etc etc

Whats my best option for around £700.00?

Thanks for your help

Eric

I guess it depends on what you want to use it for, but generally you can assume that the more ram you have, you are less likely to have a memory bottleneck. So I'd say yes personally.

(I'm looking at getting 4gb of ram in my new machine )
