Default Clutch fitting issue

My mechanic put a new clutch in my car 2008 sti today but cant get the release bearing to connect to pressure plate

Is it something to do with either a push or pull set up, has he got the right one?

I bought it through AS performance Rob so should be correct one
He seems to think its the circlip not attaching or fell off

Hes pulling the box off today its gutting as car is now running after engine getting put back in
