Mildly disappointed with my MY11 Sti
As the title says...I'm feeling a little disappointed with my 2010 Sti saloon tbh. Don't get me wrong, it's a great car to drive with the switchable maps and adjustable diffs but just seems to lack the performance I expected from it.
My previous two cars were a Clio 172 (quick but not a flying machine) and a 272 bhp Wrx blob eye.
I thought coming from the Wrx that the Sti would feel even quicker again but I genuinely don't think it does...the wrx felt like it had more oomph to it that the Sti.
Have read a couple of reviews and people seem to think it has less performance than the 2008/2009 model but can't understand why.
Anyone else driven one and thought the same?

Just to be pedantic, it's actually a MY11, even if purchased/registered in 2010 - no saloons before MY11 just hatches.
If it's the standard 296 bhp / 300lbft then that's probably why it feels slower than a tweeked newage WRX at 272 BHP (what's the torque figure?) as it's somewhat heavier (CW: 1510kg against 1410kg)

I'll change it back.
The torque figure on it was 282 lbs ft.

Wish I still had access to the Wrx so see how they compared next to each other.
Looks like a little bit of tuning might need to done to give the car a little more go.

Now the Subaru or Pro-R Performance Package in 320R or 340R flavour
320R - 320ps (316bhp) 332lbft
340R - 340ps (335bhp) 361lbft (including 2nd cat removal and new back boxes)
neither now available but easily do-able.
Only thing to watch out for is lifting cylinder heads and ringland failure.

Interesting as I was thinking of upgrading from MY05 STI PPP to a MY11 saloon.
i recently had MY05 STi go in for its airbag recall and the Subaru dealership gave me a MY17 STi as a courtesy car and I was worried it would be a bit too refined compared with MY05 STi but it wasn’t. Performance wise they were similar but think MY05 had more power lower down the Rev range while the MY17 power was higher up otherwise was pleased with it.

The hatchback is a lot lighter than the Saloon and feels a different car. The Saloon feels heavy but does feel stable at high speed. I prefer the look of the Saloon but wouldn't buy another one over a Hatch and I've owned both. My Saloon was JDM 11 plate as well and my current modern Subaru is a JDM hatch

Well after being a bit disappointed with the Scooby i ended up selling it and buying a 2009 Audi S4 and f##k me it's fast!
Never thought I would move over toi Audi but after driving it I wouldn't sell it for anything.
Has a few upgrades like Apr pulley upgrades, exhaust, intake and stage 2 remap and is meant to be running in the region of 460bhp and it feels effortless power and speed.
Anyone else on here got one?
