I had the sigma alarm removed from my car, (killed the battery within three days). The sigma had the fob which unlocked the car, now that's gone, is there anyway to link up the key buttons to get the car to unlock, at the moment I'm having to open it with the key like it's 1985.

The sigma alarm has been removed, so the fobs didn't do anything after.
I wasn't too sure if the keys and the car would have been synced, as the alarm always felt aftermarket.

Sounds as if you haven't remade connections when removing the alarm or your key no longer has working buttons.
Have you a battery in the key??
Have you re-registered the key (transmitter) with the keyless entry module??

i'm taking it the car is a classic , does your key have a built in immobiliser ? i agree with above but i would expect when subaru fitted the alarm that the remote part of the key was disabled and it's if you can re connect , which could probably quite difficult , unless your fob has an immobiliser you have no security on your car ? so i would get a cat 2 fitted as a minimum or a new full alarm system , i have jdm cars and i know the u.k. ones had different security compared to jdm ones which had a lack of security till later on

sigma was fitted to classics and probably some newer cars by subaru u.k. as one of the conditions of it being sold in the u.k. , as all subarus are effectively imports , sone keys had a built in immobiliser but that is normally the later cars , most insurance companies are looking for a minimum of a cat 2 some won't insure with out a cat 1 , the door unlock button on the fob on earlier cars is no indication of them having any sort of immobiliser or alarm

My01 UK Imprezas have the OEM built in immobilizer circuitry in the key (transponder).....

AFAIK the fitting of the Sigma circuitry inside the key (single button) didn't happen 'til MY03 Blobeye and SG Forester.

current age of the car is not known all we know is a sigma alarm , difference in fitted security as mentioned above

we don't know if car is jdm or uk and as fob is not working if any thing is in the fob , we both need a bit more info to know what is what ?

Hey Guys.
Sorry been away, it's an 02 bugeye, it's not a jazzy one, just a beat up bog standard estate, It's just an inconvenience sometimes with the kids.
The fob shown by Don Clark is the one I was using, but when the immobiliser was removed the fob was redundant.
The key has two buttons on it, which when batteries are added do nothing.
Kinda looks like this might be a big job on a £100 car.

if yours is a uk car ? does it not have a standard uk subaru immobiliser built into the key ? or does it have no security at all ? has the gubbings of your key been taken out and put by the steering column to by pass the immobiliser ? or did it have an after market immobiliser fitted and has that been removed , if you have no immobiliser i would get some thing fitted , on ebay you can get a fob with remote central locking built in and it is not that expensive , but a cat 2 would be a good start if nothing fitted

As we now know the key and fob are two separate items, the OEM immobiliser (which is linked to the key) should still be in use.

Depending upon how the sigma alarm immobiliser was "removed", it maybe possible to resurrect the OEM keyless entry system as described in the pdf linked to in post #4

On page 47 it details how to register the transmitters (ie your two button key).

As you have managed to fit a battery to the key, I'm assuming there is a pcb inside.

The registration connectors will be a pair of single wire connectors coloured white.

VXR2010, I don't need an immobiliser, the insurance company are aware it's been removed and the car as a whole is worth about £100.

Do a google search for Sigma M30 alarm fob - most will be the generic SIGMA fob without the Subaru logo.

Also make sure it's not for the later S series alarms
Do you know the PIN for the keypad? If you don't have a working fob, you won't be able add a new fob.
