Default What are my key options?

Hi all

I have my keys set up like pictured below, but it's not right so what can I do?

The buttons on the key fob don't do anything it's all done by the 'Subaru alarm' fob

I'd also like a spare set, what options do I have?

Thanks, Yodi

PS. Car is a 2002 Bugeye

Sounds like your battery is dead in your key, the buttons should still work.

Is that a UK dealer fit Subaru alarm or a random one with a Subaru sticker?

Get a new titanium key and fit a proper alarm with keyfob like a Toad or Clifford. Job done

I guess the alarm is a standard fit one but I'm not sure, I'm not going to start changing complete alarms as it works fine and without fault, as does the key I just don't see why the key has the open/clodse buttons and I have a separate fob too

because the alarm is aftermarket, even if dealer fit, its still aftermarket. The Key does not have the alarm code/transponder in it.

Put a new battery in your key, most installers dont disconnect the original remote relay when putting in an alarm, so i imagine it will work.

or try and fir the circuit board from the alarm fob into the key - probably not possible to do this due to the size, but only you can tell this.

Or just bin the key and get a titanium one.

Had to get a spare myself earlier in the year. Go to Timpsons and see if they can do you a spare transponder key, have them get a proper subaru key blank though. region of £60 all in, make sure you talk to someone who's had several years experience, or it won't get cut well enough to work in the locks and ignition properly.
