13.3 @ 102.5MPH US Spec MY02(01) Ran by Alex one of the guys that runs the North American Impreza Owners Club(i-club). Here is a quote;
"Anyways, I am stocked! 13.3@102.5 thats 1.1 seconds off my old time, 0.1 seconds off my 60' time and most importantly, 10.5mph trap speed increase!!! That is amazing!"
The power mods on the car are:
MBC @ 15psi
IHI VF-22 Ball Bearing Turbocharger
3.2" CUSCO SS Catless Downpipe
3.2" SYMS Exhaust System
SS Vishnu Performance Catless Uppipe
K&N panel filter
Lots of ICE for the IC
Now take that all of you who have your noses in the air with your superiority complexes.
Sorry I don't know how to post pics or I would post his time slip as well.
Ken

Yep - thats quick.......but so is a dragster
And quite clearly only mildly modified
Still looks awful
Standard spec MY01 still not a patch on the standard spev MY00 and before.....(performance wise)
And finally, on a twisty country road - Oh ! - sorry forgot - you dont have them...
'nuff said.....

Its sad to that when the US get their hands on the WRX all that is talked about is the 1/4 mile. Might as well have a Camero Z28 or Mustang Cobra. Scooby's are all about the twisty stuff (and of course there aren't any roundabouts in the US! )
Mind you at least you've got them over there now. When I lived there I had to make do with a Mustang GT. 4.6L V8 with same power as my scooby, live rear axle and handling like a whale.

How much power would this car be running with those mods?
I know of a UK Scoob with 235bhp that's done 13.2secs , and a WRX with 300bhp that's done 12.7secs!
I haven't seen the new Scoob run though, and it is supposed to be much slower to 100. I can't see how though, as it's 0-60 time is better?
Stef.

What times would an old shape lighter Impreza UK Turbo spec get with those mods? Is the question.

I thought that the MY01 had more potential when modified than the MY00(and before) ?
Please correct me if I am wrong, I'm no expert when it comes to engines.
Nathan..

Cheers Stef.
The Aussie V5, V6 STI's with 260hp not 280hp due to 95 ron juice run 104-105mph terminal speed. Terminal speed is always the hp indicator. Weight taken into consideration too. That My02 is running at least 260hp if not more I'D say. And thats hp not bhp.
Not having a go at my01 owners but,
"Now take that all of you who have your noses in the air with your superiority complexes"
worked me up a little.

Yes. Your car is lighter and with less ponies you got 100 mph only 2.5 less than the my02 which has a fair few mods done to it. Obviously you drove very well to get a 13.2sec pass. I take it your car is fairly standard. The my01,02 is about 100kg heavier. With those mods done to yours which to me equate to at least 40hp and more, you would be up around the 106mph terminal speed. That exhaust the my02 is running 3.2 inch seems a bit too big for the mods mentioned,it's huge.
Cheers

Jack,
I was trying to emphasise the sillyness of the title....doh!!!!!!!!!!
That is the inferiority of the the MY01 (standard) vs the *standard* MY00 (or before).... Its all good and well that a mod'ed MY01 achieves these figures, but its hardly fair to declare the MY01 some sort of wonder car........ eh ????
I assume you have roundabouts down there too .....Oh no - your always stuck in traffic jams.....

Gastro, Lunchmeat...
Sorry but the us has some of the most magnificent roads on which to get crazy on...
Maybe you have never been here. From the high mountains of Southern California to the twisty back roads of Northern Cal you can get your giggles and then some on our roads.
Sorry I am not much of a dragger anymore...used to be really into it though.
I am actually a road racing freak. My friends are dragging me out to some Auto-Xing events soon as well.
I was only trying to show you all that the car is capable of good straight line excelleration. That seems to be where it gets bashed by haters like you.
The car listed above is also fitted with Cusco Comp2 coilovers, rear links, and upper strut bars. We are both roadies, I have the same coilovers on the way, lots of other power mods, new wheels and tires installed. But what ever. Just trying to let guys know that they don't have to take that crap from guys like you. Gotta go, wifes calling...

WREXY.
The terminal speed on my run was 100.00mph. Does that correlate with your theory, bearing in mind my car had 235bhp at the time?
Jack.
I believe that some big new roundabout somewhere over there experienced over 200 accidents in the first couple of months!!!
They weren't all excited Scooby owenrs were they?
Stef.
