Default Splice around connection?

Ok where to start...

Airbag light on dash keeps coming on every time I move the passenger seat forward. If I remove key from ignition and give the wire that leads from seat to plug to the loom a little push back and out key back in it's gone. (been my fix for months)

I've cleaned the plug yesterday and I couldn't get it to come back... Until this morning it happened again.

Could I remove the connection by splicing around it? as I think its snagging or is there another recommendation?

Thanks in advance

I thought about that, but it wouldn't fit inside the housing (black cover that bolts over) to protect from the hoover my other worry is if my "push" fix for months has also frayed a wire inside because they're only little 1-2mm wires

Have you had the connection fully apart, and physically checked it over for loose-ness, corrosion etc?

I'd do that first, but do remember to disconnect battery and leave for half an hour BEFORE working on it.

Yeah I took apart sprayed some solvent on it and gave each connection a little file yesterday and it was fine problem solved - so I thought! Moved seat forward to load kiddo in car this morning and it's back

Maybe not tight enough? Or a dry-soldered joint on one connector?

TBH, spraying solvent on electrical connectors is a waste of time.

Take it apart, tighten it up and check that the wires are long enough, so not getting pulled apart.
