if its a import, then this is common and not a issue.
if it s a uk car then give the vin to Subaru and ask them to send a letter confirming the model. pass this on to the dvla.

Agreed.
They are actually surprisingly good when I have dealt with them. I declared an engine conversion I carried out but they misprinted the engine numbers. Quick phone call and a form filled in in line and the job was sorted. They have always been good with cars I have re shelled/converted etc.

So your car is not a blob WRX300, which was a 54/05 plate car in WR Blue with a few extra bits and some SWRT branding??? pretty sure they come with blue seats with SWRT emblem on them, fog covers with SWRT logo on them, Gold alloys and Tracker as standard and "300" badges on the side and rear!!
I wouldn't bother changing it, to much hassle for something that doesn't matter really, even when you come to sell, I don't think it would matter that much to any potential buyer. Ive had a couple of JDM impreza STi's which just had Impreza on the log book, and no details about what model it was!!

Done this myself with a evo fq 300 previously .
You need to go to the main dealer and get a chassis/ model confirmation letter written by them on letter headed paper . They will want to see the car .This then needs to be sent with the log book to the dvla . They will then alter the model to suit .
It's the only way they will do it . Ring and speak to them throughout to ensure its done correctly
Worked for me and came back listed correctly
