Default Taxing car what you think??

Wife is due to tax her car but can't find the v5 or reminder, went to the post office and we've moved house and forgot to change insurance address over(the wife's fault). V5 is at our address it was the insurance causing the issue. Can I simply call dvla or my insurer to update my details then try again. Wanting it taxed ASAP.

Don't need insurance details to tax your car now, as long as it's insured its fine. I done mine the other day and was suprised when they told me as I've allways had to show them.

Yeah the rules have changed. As above you can walk in with the reminder if you own the car or the v5. No need to show them insurance or mot details as they, obviously you need to be insured and have an in date mot.
