LAMCO OIL TEMP GAUGE
Easy everyone, I've got factory fit Lamco gauges in my 53 plate STI. The oil temp gauge is jumping about, it only jumps from the temp of the oil upwards so I know the oil temp is fine but flickering of the needle is doing my head in! So my question is: is the gauge f☆☆ked or do I need an auto electrician to have a look at it?
cheers for any help

It might be a poor connection, which can be anything from the wiring at the rear of the gauge not making contact properly, to loose or corroded connections closer to the sender.
It might be a poor earth at the sender...try earthing the sender BODY to the engine with a short piece of wire.
It might be a duff sender. Can you try a known working gauge in it's place?
Ad lastly, it might be the gauge itself.

A big thanks for all the replies, after investigation it turned out to be a loose connection ont back of gauge. The hammer is back in the box! Until next time!
