Just wondering if anybody has happend to them.....

my brother had a focus (2002) and sometimes going up hills it coughs,splutters and goes about 5 mph.

on the flat and down hills it runs perfect.

today we replaced the plugs,air filter,coil pack and plug leads,fuel filter and still bloody doing it!!

has anybody had similar the past?

on and its got plenty of petrol in it lol

I'm not a mechanic but sounds like something is losing pressure or leaking.

What does the oil look like? Is it gobbling coolant? Is it running a constant temperature. Could be cylinder head or something like that.

Could also be a fuel pump failure or the ECU could be buggered.

As youv already done the coil pack that's ruled out assuming it was new. Get it code read if there's no codes do a compression test.

My wifes Ka had a coil pack failure, luckily I replaced it before it could arc out and shaft the ECU (they are known for this), not sure if the focus is the same........
