Great cars to drive, straight 6 sounds awesome.
However, they need at least 350bhp to feel quick (rather than fast), and are a LOT more expensive to run than an Impreza.

I had an 09 GTR from new, awesome car, very exciting, very fast, handles like a dream - sold it after 8 months because it was boring, seriously, anyone on this forum could have got in it on a track day and beat everything else on the track if they were brave enough to keep their foot in. I thrashed my mate in his Ferrari who is a much better drive than me.
R34 V-Spec is where it is at, best looking, most rewarding to drive and still holding its value well in Bayside Blue.

If you spend the £22k on a Turbo 2000 it'll be like throwing money away, you'd never get close to that back, even breaking it.
If you get a R34 (especially in Bayside blue) you'll probably make money when you sell it... although i suspect you'll need nearer £25k to buy one in the first place.
If i had £22k to spend i know what i'd do.

LOL you took the words right out of my mouth.
TBH subaru's are far to soft. IMO
I would buy an R34 all day long, and you won't loose all your hard earned cash. And i wouldn't worry about running cost, because a 20k classic is going to cost you shed loads of cash in the long run.

You must be able to get a well sorted r33 v spec for less than 22k would of thought they would sit around 15k but as Gary says the r34 if you could stretch a little more would still be worth what you paid for it and there is no way I would drop 22k on your turbo be a complete waste.

Previously owning a 33gts t after an impreza I enjoyed for three months and worked through a couple of other cars to come back to a scoob.
4-5 years ago I was paying £10 for about 35 miles. 320bhp skyline.
Awesome straight line, handling was light but scary. Prefer the scoob for fun.
They sound nice and engines are strong but man you need some deep old holes near your legs now for the fuel.
Get yourself another nice scoob mate.
While I think about it too rear tyres lasted me 3 months, not all play time either and it was going to cost if I recall correct £500 for two rears 285/35/18
They're great and nice and I don't regret but you will get sick Boeing your putting the garage owners kids in designer clothes very quickly and it will be even harder to shift now when that time comes

Agreed, the car's faster than most Ferrari's and Porsche on track - that just shows the Japanese can build a better cars than the Eurotrash countries
It's a very different car to the Scoob though, not a country lane monster IMO which is the reason I kept the Scoob.
