Cool

My mate Chris went to Santa Pod last Sunday.
He took his 4x4 Burgundy Sapphire Cossie with him.
He did a personal best on the 1/4 mile of 13.1seconds.
He also on the same run beat a TVR Tuscan.
Say what you like about Cossies, this is one fu(king rapid car
However, if that had been me, the first thing I would have done after that was attack the interior with a spanner and get into the twelves.
Its still as **** though.
astraboy.

My mate has an escort that was doing steady 12.5's on standard wheels and suspension. he has now fitted 18's and ap 4 pots. Oh and he has found the boost is down by 9 psi so it should run 11's on 500+ bhp. That is an awesome rush of power

The saphire sounds though

Was it on Escort Cossie wheels?

If it is I saw it run. 4x4 traction rules

Nice looking car and best colour for a Saphy

13.1? He's got to be running at least 330.

If not, I'm selling my 2wd tomorrow

Why? Mike R ran very low 13s all day at Santa Pod with 385 bhp 2wd, back in 1999.

If driven well, there's no reason a 4x4 with less power couldn't do low 13s

Astraboy

Was it the guy with the Escort Cossie alloys on it?

4X4 weren't it? My mate has raced him a few times a while back in his old 2WD Black 'Q' plater....

Things are gonna be a little different now tho Newly built Harvey Gibbs 400+

Was a nice car by the way

Oh and Westy, i will let him know you want to play.
I dont think you should underestimate the it though.
I know the engine spec and it worryingly standard for that time
I think that time is more to do with the driver than the engine
He can also claim a 4.99 second 0-60 mile
and that was before he got it tuned to 330

Even my lowly piece of crap euro scoob will easily pull a middle-ish 4 to 60...and sub/flat 13 quarters.

U must be doing something wrong fellas.

Was there and saw it go, was well impressed especially with the traction problems off the line. Most impressed by the skyline doing mid 12s until the twin engined 5 came out.

Yeah he has got the launch sorted out now. Just after he got it tuned he took it to the strip and dumped it so hard he sat there for 1/2 a second burning out all four tyres on the spot
Maddest thing I ever saw
