Anyone else gone from a scoob to an Audi Quattro 4.2 V8 ?
Just wondering...........
I thought I would miss the old scoob at first,..............the rumble, the stares, everywhere you go someone wants to talk to you about your car, the Sunday meets, rolling road days etc etc.............
But unfortunately heading towards 40
I have two kids and now a 10 month old German shepherd (who,s f*cking huge by the way 41kg)
So I needed an estate..........................................
After much looking around I decided on an Audi estate, and the A6 model so I could fit the biggest dog cage I could get in it, but I thought I could still have some fun on my own occasionally.
I only had a reasonable budget so I decided to buy a second hand Audi A6 estate, 4.2V8 Quattro, and I have to say I really like it, it does not have any turbos, but 300bhp and 300 ft lbs.................and very smooth delivery, even the wife likes it leather interior/tiptronic gearbox
Anyone else got the same model as myself, as over the last six months I haven't seen a single one on the road?
Hope everyones well from the Sussex scoobs I used to see

Bought an S6 Avant , two years ago. Sat Nav, Electric rear heated seats, Recaro's etc...Fantastically built and specc'd. But wooden steering, horrendous servicing costs and off loaded it, and no there not fun. Great long distance cars but how often do you do long distances. BM 530d much better option.

Went from a modded MY99 to an (Bi-turbo) S4 Avant - best move I ever made!!
Servicing is OK, running costs are about the same as the Scoob.
Just SOOO much better inside, and totally Q-car - looks like every other A4 Avant

the only problem i find with driving all those is that yer there fast, but theres no soul behind them, i like the feeling the scoob gives me when i look at it or start it up, the audis dont have that, there just perfect but somtimes un-inspriring, maby its cos im in them all day.

I know what you mean, but I think it's more to do with "growing up". The Scooby still brings out the kid in you, but the Audi is more refined and grown up.
There's NOTHING like the Scooby "burble" - I'll miss the sound of my ScoobySport decat on full-chat until I die!
However, there's a VERY nice sound that comes from a Miltek'd V6 (or V8!) - I haven't done mine yet, but I'm soo tempted

Well, I did Scooby....Audi S4 (420BHP) .....Audi RS4 (520BHP) and I wouldn't classify either of them as soulless...

Yeah, I've been in a 430bhp RS4 (the twin turbo) and to describe it as "soulless" is just total nonsense! The sound, huge huge torque, build quality, scares supercars and the stealth of it all packaged in an estate car!! How can that be soulless??? Unique more like?
Been in an S6 4.2 V8 avant with a Milltek, that just sounds awesome!!

I understand the soulless thing, the scooby does have almost a personallity, but once you put your foot down on a straight and hear that v6 howl it goes away temporarily, then theres the speed, but for me it will be the motorway runs with the family where the audi wins hands down, quiet refined fast , well built, not many problems to be noted. The last time I went to germany I was getting overtaked by audis like i was standing still, but i was doing 150mph. Ever since then I wanted one. Any car with 300bhp can be exciting , but I think it is a growing up thing. Each car I get gets progressivly faster. What the hell am I gonna drive when I am 40?

I'm now running a 51 Audi A4 3.0 V6 quattro, love it!
I needed to stiffen the suspension up a little and put on the RS6 wheels, that has really sharpened up the drive.
The V6 is a sweet engine, very responsive with a georgeous soundtrack. just dont think about the MPG
