I very nearly bought one until the snotty salesman lied to me and said he couldn't find the key for a test drive

EVO mag rave about them, and whilst not that powerful (138bhp) have a great chassis. Shocking storage space though (just take a look)

You might want to head over to here and make a post but be careful, if you dont do a search first they bloody pounce on you!!!!

If you want more power Thor racing and Silverstone Performance do turbo conversions.

A mate had one briefly. No slouch given the relatively low bhp figure and loads of fun.

Echo the above about storage space.

Yeah agree. Seems much quicker than it should be and handles well.

Had one for an afternoon once on a nice sunny day, and I have to say i really enjoyed driving it, whilst not super fast it was lively and fun to drive, I found there to be slightly more room than the Mk2 MX5 as well which i struggle to fit in being 6ft4, the MR2 was far more comfortable, the Mk3 MX5 is better but assuming you are looking at a second hand MR2 they are a good car

I had my mr2 back on a w reg, 37000 miles in 18 months, typical toyota, low running cost, totally reliable, roof removal is simple and tidy, handles better than the mx5 ( and quicker ) pretty poor for storage space, just the 2 cabins behind the seat, its a fantastic summer evening roof off to the country pub for a pie and a pint type car. its very good.
