I know I posted this somewhere else on here recently, but I still think the old ones are the best. No photoshop needed with mine:

He had two of those Renault beauties, a black one which needed some major TLC and a mustard yellow coloured one which I spent the summer working on (we stripped it down, rebuilt the shell from the ground up with stripped out interior, classic sports steering and a very minimal dash i.e just a big rev dial lol).
I think we lost something with the newage car's, every classic car I look at now has character in bucket loads.. what went wrong with the industry - too obscessed with tech?!

hux309: Headgasket???
I've owned my T2 for 14 years and have driven it regularly ever since and it's never had the head off (touch wood!). In fact after 4 or 5 years of replacing various engine ancilliaries it's been very reliable and took us on our honeymoon for 3 weeks around Corsica, Sardinia, NW Italy and SE France. It's a 185bhp car with the higher boost from the denser intercooler and wastegate shim.
jjones: Thanks for that photo of the red one outside the pub. I haven't seen it before. I had just made a list for another forum of 42 UK registered cars I know of. You've just made it 43!
Billgtt: If you need any buying advice send me a pm when the time comes. Steer clear of that E-Bay one!

jjones: I was wrong with my earlier comment that I didn't know about the car you photographed outside a pub recently. It was in my list of 42 known UK cars, but when I last knew about it back in 2001 it was white and had regular T2 bodywork and resided in Surrey. Since then it has been fitted with a partial R5 Maxi Turbo style bodykit and been resprayed red. It's also lost the "2" off the "TURBO2" door stickers.

Thanks for that, i'll be sure to get in contact with you if I need any help/advise. I know a few people in the T2 world, and I know the blue car on Ebay and it's two previous owners, one of which has posted on this thread.

There's a white T2 on E-Bay now. It's item number 160212687897. Currently still below reserve at Euro 24,000 (= GBP 18,350).
It's incredibly low mileage 5729km = about total of only 3600 miles after 25 years. It came up for sale in the USA a year or so ago and has spent practically it's whole life stored in an aircraft hangar along with a lot of the owner's other "toys" at a fully-blown commercial airport (you can just see some other cars of his in the background). From memory it was never even registered on the roads in America, so couldn't have been driven out of the airfield anyway.
I'd heard that it ended up in Turkey or somewhere. Looks like the E-Bay address is Bulgaria! I'd be a bit nervous about spending nigh on 20,000 quid on a car that was advertised there though. That said if it is all above board, it would be the nearest thing you could get to a brand new Turbo 2 and quite unique.
