Default Saab 95 - PPC Stage 1

Anyone got one of these, thinking about getting one?

Want for mine but didnt wanna pay £600+ - anyone wanna share the cost of one of these DIY plug in ECU "changers"

Or has anyone got one they would like to sell?

You cant share the cost, it marries itself to the cars ECU, if you plug it into another car it will refuse to tune it, I have one for my 9-3 Aero and its gone from a bit disappointingly flat to pretty quick, 210 to about 250, its the way the car should come to the factory.

Mine struggled at first, it was misfiring, a change of plugs and its transformed, 30 - 70 in about 5 seconds, much nicer low down.

Also, the gains depend on the model, the LPT ones respond best, the old 9-3 LPT gaining 70 plus bhp.

^^ as above- I bought the PPC unit for my old 2005 9-3 aero and it made an awful lot of difference to the car.

As mentioned, it only works with one car.

It is a proper remap, well its an off the shelf one rather than a bespoke rolling road one but it does the same thing, the problem with Saabs is that the ECU is very complex and protected, especially the Trionic 8 so it costs more to develop a map, hence the need for the PPC, its BSR protecting their investment.

on the 9-3 Aero its a must, it feels so constrained as standard, the PPC wakes it up.

The older Saab engines are better in this respect, they are pretty good from the factory.

£553 for a PPC - Saab 95 Tuning BSR Stage 1 PPC Upgrade. PU.410-1-PPC

Or an upgraded ECU is about £30 cheaper.
