2000 Almera, engine sqeaking - is this fanbelt?

No, it's the mouse in the glovebox.

Seriousl though, is it likely to be squeaking cause of the fanbelt?
If so how much usually cost to get replaced?

you can find out if it is one of the auxillary belts by spraying some WD40 on them and seeing if the noise stops
usually would only needing tightening/adjusting

No worries mate

Sorry, don't know much about the internals of cars to be honest. Plenty on here do though, so hopefully someone will have a more helpful suggestion

Air con doesn't work either, is there any belt which control this etc???

A/C compressor is belt driven.....

So, Watson, take a guess if there is a link between the noise and the a/c not working or not

Hopefully its a simple case of a loose/knackered belt

Worst case is a seized compressor.

Or the faults could be entirely separate and it just needs a re-gas and it needs a new water pump, who knows! Thats cars for you .....get it looked at properly either way
