New car!!!!
My new Audi A3 2.0 tdi S Line (170) arrived today!!!! I've already booked it in to West Tuning for a power hike. It's the smoothest car I've driven in a long time and the torque is impressive.
Having driven my WRX for so long I forgot what it was like not to hear rattles etc. All being well i'll run the wagon as a weekend car especially after being to API and seeing the goodies I can add to it

Be very careful about remapping though as the usual specialist VAG tuners haven't released a remap yet due to various problems they have come across including the DPF throwing up faults.

After the remap Ray West @ West Tuning reckons an extra 30bhp and 40lb/ft torque
I spoke to superchips, who I've used before for my Golf's, and they only do the 140 model and say they are developing one for the 170. To be honest having driven now (all day) I'll probably keep it stock until someone like Superchips have released a well tested remap - I don't want to be the guinnea pig.

It's a common complaint amongst new owners and people who test drive the A3, not sure why Audi insist on designing it in!!

I take your point it is "only" a diesel however having owned a diesel as a company car back in the early 90's it still amazes me how far they've come along.
Anyway I still have the WRX and a 350Z to play when I need my petrol fix

Ignore me, I'm having an "I hate my clattery diesel" day
Luckily the wife has signed me off for 2 days so I can get my bike out this weekend and head for north Wales! An unsilenced, booming V-twin will resolve my slump.

Sounds like a plan - I however I can't get any petrol fun as I have a massive proposal document to write and the wife is going out on the p*ss this afternoon. Somedays life just SUCKS!!!!!!!!

Nope, I'm not forgetting it's an Audi. While diesels these days make plenty of power and torque, while they're quieter than ever they do not make for sweet, aurally entertaining powerplants that encourage driving just for the sheer pleasure of it. Although, to be fair, you could level the same at many a modern petrol powerplant.
