Audi R8
Alright guys
I was wondering if anyone has any information on this car? When is it out and how much is it expected to cost? Any road tests been done on it?
First car for a while that has made me look so closely!
Tried a search but couldnt find much - I guess 'cos R8 is too small a term.
Cheers
Dave

My old mans got one on order. With choice options, you're looking at approx £83K (manual)
Standard they are retailing at £76,725.00 (Manual) or £81,925 (R Tronic)
Demo's should be at dealer this May. Order book is already full for the next couple of years. He had the chance to order one for this August, but waited a couple weeks thinking about it, and now he's looking at delivery late 2008/early 2009. That being based on all those that have put their £1500 returnable deposit buying one.
All will depend on the write-up's I suppose. V10 engine model is being mutted as available in 2009.
For the same cash, you can get a second hand Gallardo, AMV8, 997 carerra.
The R8 does look fantastic. Better looking than the Gallardo and 911. He's ordered one in Black with Silver side Blades.
Contact your local dealer, and get him to email the spec and price list.

I drive his RS4 quite a bit.
If it stays at the curent delivery date, then yes it is a long time to wait. He's hoping people drop out. If the reviews aren't that great, he'll drop out himself.
Personally, I'm tring to convince him a Gallardo would be a better option, although I see the R8 holding it's value better than a Lambo.

A mate has an RS4 (new shape) and is planning on getting it supercharged by MTM when they sort out the kit.
He's got me insured on it - Just need to find a weekend that we both have spare!
A Gallardo would be a fantastic option - Really love them!
