MPG - Need you're help chaps
Hi all,
Currently trying to buy my g/f a car. I want a good, reliable, (gern or jap ), sport car, that does fare mpg as she does about 80 miles a day. Budget is £3.5K
So, currently looking at
Mr2 -Rev3+
Rav 4 - sor above
Celica Gt n or above
Golf conv n/p/r
So, anyone had one of the above ? Anyone know what sort of mpg you would get ?? I have asked on the other forums, but find the subaru lot far more friendly and helpful.
Cheers all

Another vote for a mx5, my missus had a mk1 1.6 s-special came std with bilstein suspension, and a LSD was a real grin to drive, she now has a mk 2.5 1.8i sport not a raw as the mk1 but still fun.
Both were/are ultra reliable, cheap to run and return very good mpg (until i drive them)
£3.5k should get you a late mk1.

Mx5 ? mmmm dont really like them. Also, a friend had one, and she did similar miles and found that the car was a little weak for that. She replaced it with a boxter.
Also, she carries around a ton of crap, like all girls do. Mx5 doesnt offer much space, but then nor does an MR2.

Sports cars hold their value very well because they are always in demand. To find one capable of regular big miles for your might be tricky. If you can steer her away from the idea of a sports car you could get something newer and more reliable. Any chance of practicality overriding her vanity?

If you're choosing the car, then it isn't for her, its for you!
You might love it when the other half would rather walk!
Let her chose and have a nag free life!
Well, atleast about the car!
