Question AUDI S4

Hi Folks, anyone here driven an S4 for any great length of time, I'm probably going to trade my STI UK PPP in for one.

Had a short test drive on saturday, plenty of grunt, very smooth power delivery from the V8, steering feel is artifically weighted.

But what is it like to live with every day? I can live with a car that is less involving to drive as I have a westfield that is as involving as anyone might like.

Can the traction control be turned off completely

Sorry mate cant give you first hand views, my mate had one was out in it a few times seemed very good. Smooth powerful and easy to drive, it was not mine so I was easy(ish) on it.
His views were that it had a thirst for fuel and tyres at a surprising rate. Generally good tho. it was an 04/04 plate. Bright red de-badged (well badged as a 1.9 TDi actually). Probably gave a few diesel owners a fright.

Also tempted - Ive just been into the dealers today to arrange a test drive in an S4 (and possibly RS4). Should be doing the test drive later this week.

They seem nice, however I have noticed in the blurb that average MPG is 21 which is pretty shocking. Currently have a regular A4, so I'll be interested to see how the S4 differs - obviously more poke and [should] handle a fair bit better.

You must also be tempted to splash out the extra £12k and go for the RS4 tho surely?!

Never drove one or been in one but... when i owned an A6 2.8 Quattro and was speaking to the salesman about the terrible fuel consumption he pointed to an S4 and said to me 'try running that thing for a week' having said that a couple of blokes took the demonstrator out whilst i was there and they give it some down the road and it sounded fantastic.

On the topic on MPG I usually get 18-22 in the STI so 21mpg is no big deal.
