Default Octavia VRS

Folks,

Was having a mess around with one of these yesterday, and must say that I was very disappointed with its performance.

Anyone have any figures/thoughts on the car?

Thanks,

Shaun

You didn't say what you were in, but i wouldn't of thought they would be even close.

Roughly 0-60 7-7.5 secs, 140-ishmph, 2WD.

I've got a 170bhp FabvRS, while it will keep off your "average" car and shock a few others low down, as you blast off in a poof of soot it's no match at all for a turbo'd subaru. Handling not even in the same league, ballpark, sport.

*Damn expensive the new ones too, why get one of those for 21k?

I was in an MY05 STI PPP.

All I did was 2 short blasts in 2nd & 3rd.
When I mentioned disappointed, basically I had to back off otherwise I'd have driven into the back of him.

But that was all, not being daft on public roads or anything.

Just expected it to be quicker I suppose?

It also looked fairly new by the way.

Just looking at the graph, 361bhp wtf. Although I know regal have a reputation for overquoting power figures.
If you were in an sti standard the skoda would be slow, but in ppp'd one no wonder you were disappointed, i don't know what the fuss is about over these skoda's, though never driven one.

No. 50 of 100 Ltd Edition VRs. But now it is 265 BHP Carbonia Carbon Air Intake Pipe and filter, AmD re-map, Full top adjust Koni's, Eibachs, adjustable anti roll bars, Neuspeed strut brace's, Alcon Brakes, pads and full Milltek exhaust!! Gave the Scoob a run for it's money

Better fuel consumption, insurance, servicing costs and goes real good. It's called "The Skip"

Skoda's are good cars - the dealers [in my area] are appalling. Also Skoda support is very poor. Audi on the other hand have been more than helpful [both dealer and manufacturer].

Weird that ?

You have a lot more power than a standard Octavia - Mk 1 180bhp, Mk 2 197bhp. You have, what, 265bhp or more?

But there are a lot of remapped ones about. A moderately modded vRS from a rolling start will be a match for a standard WRX

My sows ear does 18000 miles between services

How does your Colt Lancer manage in that department

(PS - Joking - I'd love an Evo)
